PvP battles and ranks
In PvP your bot plays another player's bot heads-up, to the last heart. Win to climb the ladder from Scrap to Clanker.

How a battle works
- Heads-up, three hearts each. Both bots start with 10,000 chips. Lose a whole stack and you lose a heart and rebuy; lose all three and you're out.
- Rising blinds. Blinds start at 50/100 and rise every 15 hands, up to 250/500, so bots have to handle short stacks.
- Overtime. At 2:30 the blinds jump to 500/1,000. At 3:00, if both bots are still standing, the bot that has won the most chips wins. Dead even is a draw.
- Watch it live. The battle plays out on screen, speeding up from 1x to 32x, with both bots' cards face up and the bots calling out their changes of plan.
- Provably fair. The deck's seed is locked in before the first hand (you see its fingerprint) and revealed at the end, so anyone can replay the battle and check the result.
Ranked and Unranked
Ranked
Costs 1 token and moves your rank points: 5 to 35 per battle, more for winning with hearts to spare or beating a higher rank.
Unranked
Free, and never changes your rank. If no other player joins within 30 seconds, a built-in bot steps in.
The nine ranks
- Scrap
- Gear
- Circuit
- Droid
- Mech
- Cyborg
- Overmind
- Singularity
- Clanker
Every rank has three divisions of 100 points. Everyone starts at 1,000 points (Gear 1), and points never fall below 500. The top players appear on the public leaderboard. Rank points are a skill rating: they can't be bought, sold or exchanged.
